The Most Popular Mobile Games of 2026 Have Been Revealed
2026’s mobile game rankings revealed a clear divide between popularity and earnings, as Block Blast! led downloads while Last War: Survival Game topped revenue charts.

What stood out in the 2026 mobile game rankings was that the top spot did not belong to a single game. In downloads, Block Blast! was comfortably ahead of the pack, while on the revenue side Last War: Survival Game moved into the lead. Roblox, Free Fire, Pizza Ready!, and Subway Surfers also maintained their visibility, while Honor of Kings, Royal Match, Whiteout Survival, and Game For Peace ranked among the biggest earners. The resulting picture shows that the gap between popularity and revenue in the mobile market has become increasingly clear.
The top five in the download chart
The top five in the January 2026 download chart were now set. Block Blast! took first place, Roblox came in second, and Free Fire settled into third. Pizza Ready! climbed to fourth, while Subway Surfers rounded out the top five. During the same period, global mobile game downloads reached 4.2 billion.
The most notable point on this list was Block Blast!’s continued momentum. The game sustained a daily return loop supported by live events. On the Roblox side, seasonal market events and the official KPop Demon Hunters collaboration stood out. Free Fire, meanwhile, continued to remain strong, especially in Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Details
The numbers make the distribution of popularity much clearer. According to Business of Apps data, Block Blast rose to the top of the chart with 303 million downloads. Roblox followed with 262 million, and Free Fire with 247 million. Pizza Ready came in fourth with 154 million. Ludo King reached 138 million downloads. Vita Mahjong, Hole.io, My Talking Tom 2, 8 Ball Pool, and Snake Clash also appeared among the most downloaded games. EA Sports FC Mobile, Candy Crush Saga, PUBG Mobile, FPS Strike Ops, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang also made the top 15.
The same source says Block Blast also led on iOS with 89 million downloads. On Google Play, Free Fire took first place, while Block Blast came in second. This shows how games that do not rely on a single platform can reach a much wider audience.
On the revenue side, however, the February 2026 rankings told a different story. Last War: Survival Game became the highest-grossing mobile game worldwide. It was followed by Honor of Kings, Royal Match, Whiteout Survival, and Game For Peace. In addition, Pokémon GO rose to second place in revenue growth. Wuthering Waves also recorded a strong revenue increase after its update.
Revenue leaders
Seasonal events played a major role in Last War: Survival Game reaching the top. The Valentine’s Day event launched on February 9 boosted re-entry rates with limited-time gameplay and gift-focused rewards. Game For Peace, meanwhile, climbed five spots after two major updates on February 13 and entered the top five in revenue. Lunar New Year-themed content and the Ferrari collaboration increased the game’s visibility and spending appeal.
Whiteout Survival also moved up the ranking thanks to its Valentine’s Day 2026 event and the Spring Festival 2026 update. On the Pokémon GO side, activity ahead of Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos - Global boosted event-related spending. GO Pass: February, Road to Kalos, and the release of Therian Forme Enamorus also supported that momentum. For Wuthering Waves, Version 3.1 drew attention thanks to new characters Aemeath and Luuk Herssen, along with improvements to its progression system.
The difference between the download and revenue charts served as a reminder that the mobile game market cannot be read through a single metric. While Block Blast! reached the top of downloads with its broad user base, games like Last War: Survival Game and Honor of Kings pulled ahead in revenue generation. In other words, visibility and earnings did not have to converge in the same game.
What is shaping the 2026 agenda
Data published through the end of March also showed that expectations for mobile are changing. Overall download growth remained limited, while in-app purchase revenue increased. This suggests that instead of chasing new users, the titles that can extract more value from existing players are coming to the fore. Live operations, limited-time events, and update cadence have therefore become decisive.
April data followed the same trend. Honor of Kings once again remained in first place with a little over $138 million in monthly revenue. Gossip Harbor landed at $93.1 million. Delta Force generated $51.2 million in revenue. Honkai: Star Rail climbed 10 spots to $36.8 million, posting its best month since November 2025. Township became Playrix’s top-grossing game, earning $39.8 million.
On the download side, April’s standout newcomer was the arrow-themed puzzle genre. Arrows: Puzzle Escape jumped to third place with 20.9 million downloads, while Arrows GO! reached 16.1 million. Block Blast! again stayed at the top of the chart with 23.8 million downloads. Royal Kingdom also made a jump with 12 million downloads.
This picture showed that the games reaching the top of mobile all had one thing in common: regular content, well-timed events, and a simple but consistent structure that keeps players coming back. That is exactly what defined the mobile game agenda in 2026.
